The film has already crossed ₹41 crore in Day 1 advance gross, while the Hindi version is contributing the biggest share. Bengaluru has emerged as the strongest city, and 3D screenings are attracting significantly more revenue than regular 2D shows.

The difference between the two collection figures is important. Around 1.67 lakh tickets are associated with blocked seats, which are not part of normal public ticket sales.
That means the film has generated approximately ₹35.67 crore from its open-sale advance bookings alone.
This is a significant pre-release response, although the final opening-day collection will also depend on walk-in audiences and ticket sales on the release date.
Hindi Version Dominates: Almost 76% of Day 1 Advance Gross
One of the biggest highlights of the report is the dominance of the Hindi version.
Despite being released in multiple languages, the original Hindi version is contributing more than three-quarters of the opening-day advance gross.
Language-wise advance booking
| Language | Advance Gross | Without Blocked Seats | Tickets Booked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hindi | ₹31.98 Cr | ₹26.93 Cr | 7.07 lakh |
| Kannada | ₹4.32 Cr | ₹3.88 Cr | 1.10 lakh |
| Telugu | ₹3.51 Cr | ₹3.06 Cr | 1.85 lakh |
| Tamil | ₹1.50 Cr | ₹1.31 Cr | 76,889 |
| Malayalam | ₹54.35 lakh | ₹49.13 lakh | 26,592 |
Figures represent India Day 1 advance bookings.
Hindi is clearly leading the race with ₹31.98 crore in gross advance sales.
Kannada comes second with ₹4.32 crore, followed by Telugu at ₹3.51 crore.
An interesting detail is that Telugu has sold more tickets than Kannada despite generating lower revenue. This is partly reflected in the difference between their average ticket prices.
The Hindi version also has a much larger show count, with 20,218 shows compared with 1,212 Kannada shows.
This suggests that the Hindi market is currently the biggest commercial driver of Ramayana’s opening-day advance booking.
Bengaluru Beats Mumbai and Delhi: Top 10 Cities Revealed
The city-wise data presents another interesting picture.
Bengaluru has secured the first position with ₹5.49 crore in Day 1 advance gross. The National Capital Region (NCR) follows closely, while Mumbai occupies the third position.
Ramayana Day 1 advance booking: Top cities
| City | Advance Gross | Without Blocked Seats |
|---|---|---|
| Bengaluru | ₹5.49 Cr | ₹4.88 Cr |
| NCR | ₹5.08 Cr | ₹4.19 Cr |
| Mumbai | ₹4.13 Cr | ₹3.40 Cr |
| Hyderabad | ₹2.68 Cr | ₹2.33 Cr |
| Pune | ₹1.58 Cr | ₹1.31 Cr |
| Chennai | ₹1.18 Cr | ₹1.04 Cr |
| Kolkata | ₹1.16 Cr | ₹1.02 Cr |
| Ahmedabad | ₹99.21 lakh | ₹80.11 lakh |
| Jaipur | ₹68.21 lakh | ₹60.71 lakh |
| Surat | ₹59.41 lakh | ₹44.40 lakh |
Bengaluru’s performance is particularly interesting because it has moved ahead of major Hindi-speaking markets such as Mumbai and Delhi.
Hyderabad is another notable market, recording 32% occupancy and 35 housefull shows in the overall language tally.
Chennai has also registered a healthy 33% occupancy, indicating interest in the film beyond its strongest Hindi-speaking markets.
Karnataka Leads State-wise Advance Booking
At the state level, Karnataka is currently ahead of Maharashtra and Delhi.
| State | Advance Gross | Without Blocked Seats |
|---|---|---|
| Karnataka | ₹7.31 Cr | ₹6.57 Cr |
| Maharashtra | ₹7.00 Cr | ₹5.82 Cr |
| Delhi | ₹5.08 Cr | ₹4.19 Cr |
| Telangana | ₹3.19 Cr | ₹2.74 Cr |
| Gujarat | ₹2.82 Cr | ₹2.19 Cr |
| Tamil Nadu | ₹2.22 Cr | ₹1.94 Cr |
| Uttar Pradesh | ₹1.95 Cr | ₹1.57 Cr |
| West Bengal | ₹1.53 Cr | ₹1.34 Cr |
| Andhra Pradesh | ₹1.44 Cr | ₹1.25 Cr |
| Rajasthan | ₹1.43 Cr | ₹1.26 Cr |
Karnataka’s strong performance is worth highlighting. The state has generated ₹7.31 crore, representing approximately 17% of the film’s total Day 1 advance gross.
Maharashtra is not far behind, with ₹7 crore.
The top 10 states together account for approximately 81% of the total advance gross.
3D vs 2D: Why Are Audiences Choosing Premium Screens?
Another interesting trend is the strong preference for 3D screenings.
Ramayana has been positioned as a large-scale cinematic experience, and the booking numbers suggest that audiences are showing interest in watching it in enhanced formats.
Advance booking by cinema format
| Format | Advance Gross | Tickets Booked |
|---|---|---|
| Standard 3D | ₹25.01 Cr | 6.86 lakh |
| Standard 2D | ₹10.72 Cr | 3.55 lakh |
| IMAX 3D | ₹4.26 Cr | 36,442 |
| 4DX | ₹97.56 lakh | 10,919 |
| Dolby Cinema | ₹41.13 lakh | 8,301 |
| ScreenX | ₹18.04 lakh | 2,268 |
| EPIQ | ₹15.36 lakh | 4,119 |
| ICE | ₹10.86 lakh | 1,491 |
The standard 3D format has generated more than twice the advance gross of standard 2D screenings.
Premium formats, including IMAX, 4DX, Dolby Cinema, ScreenX and others, have collectively generated ₹5.91 crore from just 390 shows.
That represents approximately 14% of the opening-day gross from around 2% of the total shows.
This is an important indicator of the film’s premium-screen demand.
Ramayana’s Total Advance Booking Crosses ₹110 Crore
While opening-day bookings are impressive, the overall advance booking figures are even more interesting.
According to Sacnilk, the film has generated ₹110.35 crore in advance bookings across six show dates, including its opening day.
After excluding blocked seats, the figure stands at ₹88.79 crore.
| Overall Advance Booking | Collection |
|---|---|
| Total gross advance booking | ₹110.35 Cr |
| Without blocked seats | ₹88.79 Cr |
| Opening-day gross | ₹41.86 Cr |
| Opening-day without blocked seats | ₹35.67 Cr |
The opening day alone contributes approximately 38% of the total six-date advance gross.
This indicates that a substantial portion of advance ticket demand is concentrated around the film’s first theatrical day.
However, advance booking is not the same as final box-office collection. The film’s actual performance will become clearer after its theatrical release.
Can Ramayana Deliver a Historic Opening at the Box Office?
There are several encouraging signs for the film.
First, the Hindi version has generated a strong response. Second, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi are contributing significantly to the opening-day numbers. Third, the demand for 3D and premium formats is helping increase the overall ticket revenue.
The film also benefits from a powerful combination of familiar mythology, a major star cast and large-scale filmmaking.
However, the opening-day performance will depend on several factors:
- Audience response after the first shows.
- Morning and afternoon occupancy on November 5.
- Walk-in ticket sales.
- Performance across different language markets.
- Growth in bookings during the final hours.
The advance booking numbers have created strong expectations, but they do not guarantee a particular opening-day collection.
Ramayana Has a Strong Pre-Release Box Office Position
Ramayana: Part One has entered its theatrical release with a strong advance booking position.
Its ₹41.86 crore opening-day advance gross, 11.05 lakh tickets sold and dominance of the Hindi market make it one of the major box-office stories heading into November 5.
But the most interesting aspect is the geographical and format-wise demand. Bengaluru leads the city chart, Karnataka tops the state chart, and 3D screenings are comfortably ahead of standard 2D shows.
Now the biggest question is whether this pre-release momentum will translate into equally strong audience turnout after the film reaches cinemas.
The real box-office test begins on November 5.
